The ups and downs of the Pocono real estate business have been mostly down for the last few years. But after the harsh climate of the recession, a new trend could be coming to help ease the pain of the housing bust — vacation homes. National reports say that not only could the vacation home market boom in 2011, but that the Poconos could be one of the biggest beneficiaries thanks to its relatively low cost of living and its proximity to major metropolitan areas. A recent report on HomeAway.com called the Poconos a "Best Vacation Home Location" and another report in The Wall Street Journal singled out the Poconos as a place where the vacation home market is primed to flourish. Rinehimer Construction in Pocono Pines has endured the slumping economy that has forced many other homebuilders out of business by opening a Downtown Business Square in July that has enhanced its business plan. Serving a high-end customer base in Lake Naomi and Timber Trails, the company opened a one-stop shopping center that includes its offices, Marshall Sabatini Architecture, Erb's Landscaping and E-Z Mountain Rustic Furniture, which has had a longstanding business in Tannersville off Route 611. John Marshall, president of the architectural company, based in Bryn Mawr, has a home in Lake Naomi. This is one-stop shopping for those looking to establish a home and can find other resources they need after dealing with the homebuilder and easily find them rather than rummaging through the Yellow Pages. And by having them all in proximity to the builder, there is greater assurance of customer satisfaction and accountability. More
